Imi, just seven, has overcome incredible challenges. She’s braved numerous surgeries, including major brain surgeries and a bone marrow transplant. Hospital is a familiar place for Imi. Her fear of needles and constant procedures make it a daunting experience. Imi’s mum, Rachael, worries about Imi feeling different and missing out on the fun things other kids do. Thankfully, Imi’s Starlight Wish was a much-needed escape. The Gold Coast getaway allowed Imi and her family to create lasting memories and connect with other families facing similar challenges. Starlight is there to bring joy to children like Imi and their families by providing moments of happiness and a break from the stress of illness. When serious illness took over, Starlight helped Imi regain her childhood.
